I Am Your Beast on Switch: Release and Buying Guide

The Switch edition launched October 20, 2026. Verify the official listing, English support, play modes, and the separate Switch 2 edition.

Updated

Has the Nintendo Switch version released?

Yes. Nintendo's official Switch product page lists October 20, 2026 as the release date and identifies a digital Nintendo Switch version. This was checked on October 22, so descriptions that still call the original Switch port an upcoming release are outdated for that listing.

The page names Strange Scaffold as developer and publisher. Use the console field to identify this edition: a page titled only I Am Your Beast can otherwise be confused with the separate Switch 2 product.

Play modes and language

Nintendo lists TV, tabletop, and handheld modes, with one player on a single console. That supports planning a solo portable or docked session; it does not advertise multiplayer. Read any Switch Lite notes for your own hardware before purchasing.

The supported languages shown are British English and American English. They are English variants, not evidence of Portuguese or other translations. The language used by Nintendo's website is separate from the software's supported-language field.

Switch versus Switch 2

The Switch listing currently reports Switch 2 compatibility, while Nintendo also maintains a separate Switch 2 listing. Compatibility with the newer hardware does not by itself establish ownership of that separate version, a free upgrade, or identical technical specifications.

If you own both consoles, compare the edition selector and checkout terms before paying. Do not infer a frame rate, resolution, gyro option, or performance improvement merely from the console names; these require specific evidence beyond a general store listing.

A practical purchase check

Confirm the console version, your account region, and the current price. Check the available storage shown for the exact edition, allowing room for later updates. Then inspect included content and add-ons: a launch announcement for the base game does not prove that Quitting Time is included.

For a physical cartridge, require a product page that explicitly identifies a Switch cartridge. A PS5 disc announcement does not establish a Nintendo physical edition.
